21 Day Juice Fast- Day 1- 1:35 PM

Well…I was beginning to think that I wouldn’t get any use out of this blog-site, EAT, but alas, I’ve really got something to blog about!

My BFF and I have decided to embark upon a new challenge. One with the RAW/Vegan community! 21 Days of SOLELY juicing!!! This fast will flow into the Daniel Fast which our church will begin on March 8th!

This fast as well as the Daniel Fast are intended to promote healthy mind, body, & spirit, BUT not without the sacrifice of WITHDRAWL!

There was no challenge this morning as I had 10oz of Strawberries, juiced w/ 2 egg whites, soy milk, 1/2 banana, & granola.

Now, if I’m not mistaken, I am not to have eggs, granola, milk, or anything else that would turn my juice into more of a smoothie.

However, here are my concern, better known to some as excuses:

1.) Concerns of an inadequate number of calories
2.) Concerns of an inadequate amount of nutrients

Thus making me feel “some kind of way.”

Snack 1: 1 Kiwi, 4 oz of grapes, 2 green apples juiced. This was tart, but tasty!

Lunch: 3 carrots, 1/2 cucumber, 1/2 apple, 1 cup of spinach. Not bad! Sweet, but not fruit explosion sweet!

Inbetween Snack and Lunch, I did begin to feel hungry which is manifesting my fears of juicing not being enough!

Is this a form of starvation? I’m not sure and it’s too early to tell, or is it?!

Going into this, it was determined that you do the best that you can. I have encouraged my bff (and she with I) to make 80% of her day juice and if it’s absolutely unbearable to cook eat whites or fish, both high in protein and most importantly, you can chew them! LOL!

Well…. *sigh*…My first honest attempt at journaling about a new food journey…

Let’s EATogether~

Welp…

No need in trying to rehash the past, right?! I’ll just say that my organic/natural experience was AWESOME! One thing is for sure, I will NEVER go back to “normal” eating!!!!

Now, just to do better about journaling through my next phase……………

E.A.T. Well… E.A.T. together~

The Trial…

When considering venturing into organic/natural EATing and dining, we opted to have a “float,” trial period. There was researching, studying, and taste testing. The plan was to dive right into………..

THE CHALLENGE:

Organic, Vegetarian, then Vegan. All for the duration of one month each.

Up first is organic/natural. The store in our sites, Trader Joe’s.

Our first shopping experience was a short one. As both of us like to state, in our valley voices, “this is so intense.”

Thus began the Trial Period which allowed us to ease into organic/natural living & EATing!!! Our first shopping experience included Gluten Free Waffles (which are are a much lighter version of Eggos less the preservatives), brown cage free eggs (which means the chickens are allowed to eat whatever’s within their reach), Earth Balance butter (vegan friendly), & Organic Maple Syrup (100% natural.)

The End Result…

Let’s E.A.T.!!!
